Update & January TBR

Happy New Year you all! Hope you had a good time, whether you celebrate it or not ๐Ÿ™‚ I personally never cared a lot about the whole New Years and all its resolutions and stuff like that, but I had a good time nonetheless. I went over to my boyfriend, had a great time, played boardgames (another thing I absolutely love besides reading), and was generally just reeaaallllyyyy lazy xD

Now, I know, I know, I said I’d go back to updating regularly and then didn’t postย anything for (over) three months. BUT, as always my excuse, things happened, I had another reading slump and only pulled myself out when I continued reading the Discworld novels, and started my reread of Vampire Academy recently.

As for excuses..

  • I got the most wonderful amazing boyfriend ever, who also reads (honestly, that’s enough to be perfect anyway, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰ However, that means I didn’t spend as much time alone as I used to, meaning I had less time to review and update.
  • I also worked a full 200 hours in November (okay, and August and September and December too.. I’ll admit), so not much time to read either. I did continue buying new books though (did you expect anything else of me?)
  • I went to Amsterdam and visited about three bookstores. I only came home with 4 or 5 books.. so that’s a new achievement xD
  • I got GORGEOUS new bookshelves and I’mย so excited to fill them completely with books! I do have them for a while already, and I’ve mostly just put every book in it and I got some decorations, some cute plants, and I’m trying to figure out what books I want in which place and stuff like that. I also need to make a rack for my nail polish, which will be stored in my bookshelves and I’ll take a picture when it’s done.
  • other than that, I’ve been mostly busy with cleaning, chores (yay, living by yourself._.), and working.

bookshelves

(quick photo of my bookshelves because THEY’RE SO PRETTY. This might not be the final design *makes Hannibal joke reference* so I’ll probably update you throughout the year)

Anyhow, as I’m writing this, it’s just December and I’m planning on scheduling all coming reviews for the new year. Something about fresh start and stuff (not really, but I’ll be quite busy the last two weeks so I probably don’t have enough time to write a review and post it, so I’ll just schedule them for January and if I keep up my reading, I’ll finally be back to updating more.

(I originally wrote that in my review of Everything, Everything, which will be coming up later this week, and I’m way too lazy to edit the whole paragraph so I just kept it like that xD)

Now, I also generally don’t have a specific TBR for the month but this month I’d like to try because I also never know what to read since I haveย so manyย books I’ve yet to read xD So for this month I’d like to name a few books I’d like to read, also because I just love talking about books and anything about books ๐Ÿ™‚

Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise and Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

I did start the Vampire Academy series back in December, which got me out of my reading slump, hurray! I’m currently still reading the third book in the series and I’m hoping to finish it before the month ends. I’d also like to read the last two books.

Hogfather by Terry Pratchett

Of course there’s a Pratchett book., there’s always a Pratchett book on my TBR xD But last Christmas I started reading Hogfather because well… it’s Christmas themed.. sorta. You’ll know when you read the book ๐Ÿ˜‰ However, I’m currently loving it, and I do certainly plan on finishing it by the end of January. I had planned on reading it over Christmas since I don’t celebrate it anyway, but I ended up working, having to go to the Christmas dinner with the whole family (which sucked, as I expected), my mom and little sister came over for a brunch since my sister invited them to our apartment. The rest of the time was spent with my boyfriend, who told me to read Hogfather, but yeah, I didn’t get a lot of reading done in the end.

Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett

Originally the next one on my list after The Fifth Elephant, but yeah Christmas and Hogfather got in the way so there’s that. I do plan on reading this one and continuing the series after that.

So far, that’s all I have. I know I don’t read a lot, because I don’t have a lot of time, so my TBR is pretty small. For now, I’m hoping to read these books and I’ll see what I’ll get done. I do have a lot more series that seem so awesome to me (and a lot of them I already have on my shelves because… I might not read but still buyย a lot of books ^^; )

What’s on your TBR for January? Anything you’d recommend me to start reading when I’ve finished these books? Among others on my shelves are The Grisha, Six of Crows, Monsters of Verity, The Raven Cycle, and I honestly don’t know which one I would like to read first haha

April TBR

Heya all! It’s a new month again, which means it’s time to have a more specific TBR. Let’s hope I stick to it this time ๐Ÿ™‚

ARC’s TBR – I requested a lot of ARC’s in February, and then suddenly I got my own apartment, which means I had a lot less time to read in March. Hurray, daily chores ๐Ÿ˜ฆ However, this means I’m behind on my ARC’s, but I heard about an ARC challenge in April (gotta search it up!) to catch up on them, so I’ll probably be joining that one!

Rose Petal Graves

cover-reveal-the-upside-of-unrequited-largeI haven’t read Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda yet, but it seems to be amazing so I hope this book will be amazing too ๐Ÿ™‚

Other books – I ordered a lot of books online, but I forgot which ones. They’ve started delivering to my house, so every time I get a book it’s like opening a present! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • The Lunar Chronicles. I’ve started this series, but since my library only has book 1 and 2, I orderedย the complete series online. Really excited to finally read the 3rd book
  • Bloodlines. I have them on my phone, but I’d rather read actual books than ebooks, so I think once they deliver, I’ll finish the series, which is amazing and saddening at the same time… I don’t want this series to end!
  • The Sun Is Also A Star. This book came in last month, and I peeked inside and accidentally read the first three chapters and now I want to read it so badly! But I told myself I need to read the books from myย currently reading-pile first before I can start another

And that’s it so far! There are probably more books for my April TBR but as I mentioned, I literally do not remember what books I ordered, so it’ll be a surprise!

I am also back to working 6 days a week in April, so let’s see how well my reading will go ๐Ÿ™‚

What does your TBR look like at the moment?ย

T5W: 2017 goals

Hello! I’ve decided I’m gonna try this thing again, the Top 5 Wednesday is created by gingerreadslainey and hosted by Sam @Thoughts On Tomes. You can find the Goodreads group here.

–These do not need to be reading goals specifically, they can be any goals you want to talk about. Reading goals, blog/channel/instagram goals, personal goals…anything!

  1. Keep a blogging schedule (or at least sort of)

As you all may know, blogging schedules aren’t exactly my thing but I really want to try and keep it up this year. Since I only really started blogging more halfway through 2016, so far it hasn’t been easy. But I’m willing to try again! (and again, and again, and again…)

2.ย Keep up with weekly posts/memes

With this, I’m saying posts like these, or the Book Traveling Thursdays, or the Top Ten Tuesdays, all those kinds of posts always seem really cool but I never have enough time left to think about what books I want to talk about that weekย andย write a post about it. It may sound like an excuse, but work actually takes up a lot of my time ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

3.ย Stick to my 2017 Goodreads Challenge

In 2016, I set the goal for 50 books and ended up reading 51. I had a huge reading slump during the summer and read a lot in the last months. So this year I’m not pushing myself, and setting the goal again for 50 books.

4. Try to read my entire 2017 TBR

This may be the hardest of them all, because I’m almost completely dependent on what my library has for me. Besides, I do have way too long lists as for what I want to read…

My 2017 series TBR

5. Write the fanfiction I’ve beenย kind of working on for a few months

Something not related to my blog or reading, but writing. I have about 3 fanfictions that I started and I just can’t find the motivation or the time to write them. However, I’m so excited with the plot I thought of that I really want to write them, which makes it suck when I don’t have any inspiration

(If you are interested in other works I have already written, here are links to my Wattpad and Ao3 accounts. I write Destiel, Captain Swan, a little bit of Sabriel)

What goals do you have? Anything we have in common? Let me know!

December TBR

Hello there!

It’s December, the last month of the year and I’m planning to read a few books. Not a lot, because December is a busy month and I won’t have a lot of time for reading, sadly ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

First of all, I want to finish the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, which I started in November. I already read them before but I can absolutely not remember what happened so I’m rereading them. I am now reading the 5th book so it’s going really well. I was hoping I could read the spin-off series (Bloodlines) too, but they never have the first book in my library ๐Ÿ˜ฆ It really sucks to be depend on my library as for what I can read or not read.

img_20161122_130719

Anyways, other than those books, I want to reread the Legend series by Marie Lu too. Same as VA, I don’t really remember what happened so that’s a good enough reason for a reread, right?

img_20161121_231816

And you? What do you want to read in December? Recommend me some books! ๐Ÿ™‚
