Movie review: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Hey all! I’m back with another movie review, one that recently (to be fair, it was recently when I wrote this post) hit the theaters. I saw it Thursday right after it came out, and I was so excited! I could’ve gone to the prerelease Wednesday night, but those tickets were a lot more expensive… Nevertheless I really enjoyed this movie!

Quick add: I had written this entire post but then my laptop fucked up and deleted it 😦 I’ll write it again, but I had added some details I cannot remember any more so I’m sorry if this kinda sucks. I’ll probably watch it again sometime and give you all a proper review!

Imdb link: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Here’s the trailer:

Summary: The Guardians of the Galaxy are viewed as heroes since saving the planet Xandar. While they continue their guarding, they try to find out who Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) dad was. Once they do, everything seems fine, but once they realize this might be the biggest problem they’ve ever have encountered, it’s already too late. However, it’s not stopping them for trying to save the Galaxy a second time.

This movie was one of the few I was really looking forward to, ever since watching the first movie! And, not so surprisingly, it lived up to my expectations. Although I must add that I’m a huge fan of anything Marvel, so I might have it wrong.

However, this movie started out great already, and only got better. I laughed a lot of times, was surprised a lot, especially after finding out who Peter’s dad is. I expected something bad would happen, but it was worse, and it was amazing. Peter Quill hasn’t changed a bit, except he now lets out his feelings for Gamora a bit more. Gamora however, doesn’t respond to them, which isn’t anything new.

Drax and Rocket are even more hilarious in this movie, and every time Peter and Rocket had an argument, I found myself shaking with laughter.

Baby Groot was a character I was really looking forward to seeing. I loved how the first movie ended with Groot, and Baby Groot is just so cute!

Basically, it’s another epic story about the Guardians saving the Galaxy and fighting their own personal battles, with the Awesome Mix Vol. 2 as playlist. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend that you do! (but please watch part 1 first)

Have you seen this movie? What did you think of it?

Movie review: Logan (2017)

SPOILER ALERT AT THE END (I’ll put borders between the spoilers so you can skip them)

Soo, as you all may know, I am a huge Marvel fan, and when I saw the trailer for Logan I was excited from the first second!

Summary: It’s 2029, and mutants are now almost extinct. The X-men no longer exist and Logan (Hugh Jackman) takes care of Charles (Patrick Stewart), who lives hidden across the Mexican border. Other than that, he spends his days chauffeuring and drinking. When one day, a Mexican woman asks him to take her daughter Laura to the Canadian border, Logan denies the request at first. However, the Professor tells him he has been waiting for her for a long time. She has powers, much like the ones Wolverine has. This is because of a sick experiment in a hospital. They messed with DNA and created mutants. With Charles and Laura, Logan sets off, while wondering if this is really all worth it.

IMDB link: Logan (2017)

While this is another superhero movie, it’s also shown the everyday life: struggles with aging and money. Logan is definitely a lot older than the last movie, and while that’s of course obvious, it seemed weird seeing him so.. weak sometimes. The storyline is amazing though, and at first I was a bit confused, but after a few minutes, I got to enjoy the fun that is Marvel movies.

Logan, who made his appearance as Wolverine a lot of times, has weakened a lot and is surrounded by alcohol. His ability to heal infinitely does still work(just not as well as usually), but that doesn’t mean he’s not aging like any other person would do. Once so invincible, and now almost living a regularly human life, he really has been brought down.

Charles Xavier, also known as the Professor, is a lot worse. He’s dying -and he knows it, but besides that, he has attacks, deadly for mutants and non-mutants (making him the most powerful weapon alive), and needs medicines. A lot of them. However, since everyone believes he’s been dead for years, Logan is the only one who can get them and bring them over.

Laura is a little girl, however, really stong. She has powers like Logan, metal claws coming out of her hands -and toes. She is a troubled girl, who thinks fighting is the way to solve everything. Logan has to teach her that’s not the way life works sometimes. She is to be brought to “Eden”, a safe place at the Canadian border.

Meanwhile, the “bad guys” are after them, not only for the Professor, but also for Laura and Logan.

This movie was everything, the way Logan, Laura and Charles travel and work together was amazing. The character development of Laura and Logan was really well done, especially towards the end of the movie. What I also liked a lot was how this was one of the movies where fighting and the “end of the world” but more personal and daily life. This helps with showing Logan’s feelings.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!

When Charles died, it was quite emotional, he’s been like a father for Logan ever since the beginning, and it must be really hard to bury him. I like how Laura tried to comfort Logan when they were standing at his grave, but Logan just had to get it out like you’d expect: a lot of anger.

The saddest part was, of course, the ending. I know Hugh Jackman said this was the last time he’d ever play Wolverine again (source), but I didn’t exactly expect it to end like this. While accepting his own death, Laura suddenly realized what that meant for her. The only father figure in her life, the only one like her, is dying and she’s got to go her own way from then on. It was really emotional, not only because of what happened in the movie (Logan giving his life to save his “daughter”), but also because I knew it was really over for Wolverine, and the X-men in general.

THAT’S ALL, CONTINUE READING BELOW!!!!

I’m not sure whether it would happen, but it’d be really awesome if they went on with Laura, since she is in fact a mutant. She and the other kids could make a few awesome new movies in the MCU!

Did you watch this movie? What did you think?

T5W: Fictional jobs you’d want to have

Heya! I am a day too late with this (almost a whole one, since it’s 11pm actually) and I’m sorry but the moving has been REALLY hectic. I hope to be back on track around next week, but I’m working full days from Sunday till next Friday (meaning my only day off to unpack is Saturday), so I can’t promise anything, sadly.

The Top 5 Wednesday is created by gingerreadslainey and hosted by Sam @Thoughts On Tomes. You can find the Goodreads group here.

–Any fictional career you’d want to have? Remember, T5W is always open to movies, tv, and video games as well.

Supernatural: Hunter

c7de54de17729e1a5a8a46cfb146574f

I’d love to tag along with Sam and Dean Winchester (and Castiel of course!) ❤ Although there are some really scary things going around, it’d be awesome

Doctor Who: Companion

cozdygexaaacyzc

I really love Doctor Who (and yes, I still have to start my rewatch and this time, actually finish the series for as far as possible!!) and it’d be amazing to travel with the Doctor!

X-Men: Teacher

xmenxaviersschool

I am generally not one to love teaching or anything but Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters is just wayy too awesome to not be part of it 😛

Avengers: Avenger

tumblr_nkpcouwohh1rn8j6eo4_500

Fighting for my life -and my friends too, to save the world?! Hell yes! Except the part where Civil War happens (just thinking about it hurts me again aaahhh) it would be amazing.

Vampire Academy: Dhampir

Yes, I am obsessed with this series, but being a Dhampir sounds awesome. You get to learn how to protect someone at all times, and yes, it may suck a little because love isn’t really possible, but honestly, it would be really cool.

Did you agree with the jobs I chose? What jobs would you like to have? Tell me!

I am only writing my Book Traveling Thursdays post after posting this and then going to sleep! Tomorrow, I gotta wake up at 7 again, move the last things to my own apartment, then work from 12 to 8.30 pm and then I’ll finally be able to enjoy an evening in my new house! 🙂

Beyond the Books: January

Heya! January’s come to an end, which means it’s time for another Beyond the Books. This is a monthly post where you can share everything that’s not about books, idea by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much. Go check her blog!

TV

sherlock

  • I went on with Mr Robot season 2, and it just got weirder and weirder but it’s a really awesome series
  • Sherlock, oh Sherlock. A new season, with a whole new 3 episodes (yes there was a bit of sarcasm there) was on TV, and of course I watched it. If you have watched it too: please scream with me over it because I’m so confused and I don’t know what to do any more and I need a new season like, right now

Movies

  • As for movies, I only watched Ice Age: Collision Course, which, as you can expect, was super funny and awesome.

GREEN DAY!!

A lot happened for me this month..

  • On the 16th I went to the Hammerfall concert, which was amazing. It was my birthday as well!
  • Sabaton was announced as one of the bands at Graspop Metal Meeting, which made me even more excited!
  • On the 29th, I went to the Sabaton concert, and it was even better than I remembered. I saw them last year (and wrote a review here), and I had sort of forgotten how awesome they were. I mean, of course they are, but I’ve been to a lot of concerts, but when they came on stage and started playing, everything came back. And yes, my crush on Chris Rörland is also back in full force! 😛
  • and then finally on the 31st, I saw the band I may have waited the longest for. I started listening to Green Day when I was around 12 or 13 years old. I’m now 19, and I’ve finally seen them live, and it was absolutely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. The energy, the show, everything was just amazing.I may write a review of it later, but I am already busy enough with keeping the book part of this blog going so I’ll see about that 😛
  • As you may know, I am trying to write a fanfiction (okay, I’m writing 2, for different fandoms), and I’ve found that I mostly listen to Muse or Neon Trees while writing. It calms me down to the point where I can concentrate on the music and words will be flowing out of my fingers
  • I also “accidentally” ordered 10 cds, but they haven’t come in yet 😦

Other things

  • I bought new lipstick! And I made selfies, picture can be found below 🙂
  • Me and my sister have our own apartment!!! We were trying for it since December and halfway through January it finally got through and I’m so excited! Moving will take place from somewhere halfway February through begin March, so I’ll probably be less active (or I’ll schedule some posts, I’ll see if I have enough time for everything). I’m kinda scared, because it means moving out of home, but I think me and my sister will be alright there. I can’t wait to finally have enough shelf space for my books because right now everything is crammed in two tiny shelves from my closet
  • For my birthday, I got this super awesome Marvel Collector Corps box themed X-Men and I can’t make pictures now, but you can find the site here. If you click past boxes, you can see the one from December, which is the one I’ve gotten. Its amazing.
  • I also got a Magic: The Gathering deck for my birthday, and I’m ready to become a full Nerd™ 😉 The game is highly addicting and I can’t wait to start playing with my own deck
  • I also bought the cutest 2017 diary, pics will be below. It has cute little animals, different ones every month, and the colors are all so light pastel and I just love it so much ❤

picsart_02-04-12-21-44img_20170104_153731

So that’s all for this month, this time it’s actually a lot! As you may notice, I didn’t have a subject with my nails, and that’s because my nails have been either naked or just polished with one color this month. Sad, I know.

How’d did January go for you? Do we share any interests other than books? Let me know!

Movie review: Passenegrs

So I saw this movie the 24th of December and I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome it actually was.

This review can contain spoilers!

The trailer can be seen here:

Synopsis: The spaceship Avalon is on its journey through space from Earth to the “Homestead Colony”, a supposedly better place to live. It’s a 120 years long journey and everyone on board is in a hibernation sleep, not to be woken up 4 months before arriving their destination. Unfortunately, there are faults in some hibernation pods and two passengers, Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) and Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence) wake up 90 years too early. Together, they have to survive on an empty spaceship with only machines and robots to take care of them, knowing this will be the last place they see before they die.

So, to start, I hadn’t seen the trailer before I went to see the movie, and maybe that’s a good thing because it doesn’t really tell the story. I know most trailers don’t but this movie is a lot better than the trailer makes it seem. As for me, I watched the trailer afterwards and wondered why they put only all the action scenes in it. It makes it seem like there are only explosions and stuff, making it a typical “boy-movie”. But it isn’t.

This movie covers a lot of fears, and sometimes I forgot to breathe because I was so focused on how real it actually seemed. I mean, floating through space to other planets is already something that is realized. The part of moving to another planet isn’t, but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if we all would still be living when that happens.

There are things that confuse me though, I mean, it’s a movie so that should be enough explanation, but if this were a real thing happening, I’d handle these situations differently:

  • Why did they assume the hibernation pods couldn’t break? Everything can break. Literally everything.
  • Why didn’t they have any living staff on board? Even when everything goes right, it’s good to always have someone on board. Robots can’t fix everything. I’d have a staff be alive and breathing for at least 10 years, with half of it continuously changing every 5 years. That way, the “old” staff can make sure the “new” staff knows everything and do everything they can in those 10 years. Then, the “old” half can go into hibernation sleep, and a “new” half of the staff awakes, and that goes on and on.
  • At the end, why didn’t Jim and Aurora share the pod? They would’ve both lived by the end of the journey, by taking turns of sleeping for 10 years or so. But maybe that’s done because it’s a movie and it’s gotta have an ending somehow.

The part where Jim goes outside in space for the first time both amazed and scared me. I’m not afraid of a lot of things, but the idea of flying through space and also having no gravity at all? No thank you. Nonetheless, it was quite beautiful.

Another thing I want to point out is how this movie dealt with the thing never seeing anyone you know ever again because I don’t think I could just do that. Both Jim and Aurora had their tough phases but when they started to realize they were stuck, and decided to make the best out of it was really cool.

Overall this movie was really awesome, and I’d recommend it to everyone.

Have you seen this movie? Please tell me you thought it was as awesome as I did!

Series review: Vampire Academy

Okay I said I read them all once and just couldn’t remember the last three books but maybe I just have never read the last three books because it’s been a while since a book has left me in such shock…

Note: this review contains spoilers!!

Series: Vampire Academy

Author: Richelle Mead

Goodreads links: Vampire academy | Frostbite | Shadow Kiss | Blood Promise | Spirit Bound | Last Sacrifice

I also reviewed the Vampire Academy movie here 🙂

Book 1: Vampire Academy

345627

There are three kind of vampires, the Moroi (full vampire, but mortal), the Strigoi (also full vampire, but the bad kind, immortal, they kill others while feeding) and Dhampirs (half Moroi half human, the protectors of Moroi). Rose Hathaway is a dhampir and her best friend Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi. A Moroi princess, actually. After two years of living outside the school’s walls, they are found and being brought back to St. Vladimir’s Academy. While it should be safe in the school, Strigoi are dangerously close. Because Rose has missed two years of classes when she was away, she gets a personal trainer/tutor: Dimitri Belikov, a super hot Russian guy. When Lissa gets kidnapped by Victor Dashkov, she uses their “spirit bound” to find her and put Victor in prison.

Where other books usually start with teenagers escaping and an adventure begins, this book started with two teenagers being brought back to school and that’s where their adventure began (kind of). I think that’s what really encouraged me to start reading these books in the first place. Besides, how cliché it actually is, vampire stories are awesome. Usually.

Book 2: Frostbite

frostbite

Because of a Strigoi attack nearby, a ski-trip has been planned and Rose and Lissa find themselves in the snow, far away from the Academy. Sounds fun, but not when Dimitri has his eye on someone else, Mason has a serious crush on Rose, and Rose constantly finds herself in Lissa’s mind (through their spirit bound) while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian. She choses for Mason, but her feelings for Dimitri don’t go away that easily, and Adrian Ivashkov also seems to have a particular interest in her. Things go worse when she finds out Mason and two others have ran away to fight Strigoi (who are apparently nearby), and Rose has to pair up with Christian to find them. Once found, she loses Mason in the worst way, and gets her first tattoo’s for killing Strigoi.

This was actually some kind of cliché love-triangle but not really. In some way, it was different from other love triangles and that made it awesome. Also, Rose and Christian pairing up is the best thing ever. What happened to Mason actually made me really sad because I did like him.

Book 3: Shadow Kiss

220px-shadowkiss_novel

Realizing why Rose and Lissa have their special bond is both interesting and really devastating. While Lissa can heal others (to an incredible length -she brought Rose back from the dead, meaning Rose is “shadowkissed”), that ability comes with a certain darkness. And through the bond, all the darkness goes to Rose. She starts seeing ghosts and feels angrier, a lot more and faster than usually. She searches all the books she can find about their unique bond, and finds out that one other couple has had this bond, and the shadowkissed one eventually committed suicide because she couldn’t handle the darkness any more. On the better hand, Dimitri finally seems to give in to what he feels for Rose. When Rose gets warned by Mason’s ghost that a huge amount of Strigoi is coming to the gates of the Academy, she and all the others fight against them. They release some of the students the Strigoi had taken with them during the day, but then the unfortunate happens: Dimitri gets kidnapped -and they can’t rescue him. In one day, Rose got everything she wanted, and yet she lost it all again.

THAT ENDING GOT ME SCREAMING. Okay, now that that’s out, I read this book in one sitting, and only noticed how late it had gotten when I finished it. I did know something big was about to happen, but Dimitri being kidnapped was not it. I felt a lot of things throughout reading this book, sad when Rose discovered what the bond between her and Lissa would come to, happy when she and Dimitri finally got together, and then everything was destroyed. I swear, I almost ran to the library (almost -I remembered libraries usually aren’t open at 3am) to get the 4th book.

Book 4: Blood Promise

5996153

With the recent Strigoi attack and Dimitri gone, Rose’s life can go two ways: either stay with Lissa (as she had sworn she’d do so many years ago) and forget about Dimitri, or leave Lissa and hunt Dimitri down. They once made each other promise that “if they’d ever turn into a Strigoi they’d kill the other because I’d rather die than become one of those”. The day Rose turns 18, she leaves St. Vladimir’s Academy (and Lissa), and goes on a trip to kill the love of her life. Her instinct brings her to Russia, Dimitri’s home country. There, she meets Sydney Sage, an alchemist, Dimitri’s family, and two other people with Spiritus-Lissa’s ability of magic. She also finds Dimitri, and it’s even scarier than she ever had imagined. It takes her a good while to remember her promise, and before she stakes him, she spends a few weeks remembering the old Dimitri while living with Stigoi-Dimitri.

Okay, I will admit: just like everyone else, I think this wasn’t the best book in the series. On the other hand, Rose traveling through Russia on her own, making some pretty adult decisions and meeting all those new people was pretty exciting. Besides, as it turns out, her meeting all those new people is really important for the last book. Sydney Sage has her own series, Bloodlines (a spin-off) and I’m definitely going to read it. Rose meeting Dimitri’s family was seriously emotional and well-written. When Rose saw Dimitri for the first time as a Strigoi (and for the first time since the attack at the Academy), I gasped in real life. I must say she could’ve handled her time spending with Dimitri better, but it has done a lot for the story instead of just killing Dimitri off.

Book 5: Spirit Bound

220px-spiritbound_novel

As it turns out, Dimitri is still alive -if you can call it that. And he’s coming for her. In the meantime, Lissa and Rose have passed their final exams and are now living at queen Tatiana’s palace. Rose has finally given up on Dimitri and is now in a relationship with Adrian. But then a rumor makes Rose convince Lissa and Eddie (one of the other students that ran away woth Mason during the ski trip) to come with her and free Victor Dashkov from prison, so he can bring them to their brother Robert Duru. Robert seems to know how to cure a strigoi. After a lot of trouble, they get the information they want in a hotel in Las Vegas, but then suddenly Dimitri turns up and while they fight him off, Victor and Robert manage to escape. Back at the palace, Rose gets punished heavily, meaning doing archiving work and not being able to see Lissa. Meanwhile, now that she knows how, Lissa is determinded to cure Dimitri -by stabbing him in the heart with a stake infused with spirit. Except, she never had to fight anyone, let alone stabbing a strigoi in the heart. When she finally manages how to, and she cures Dimitri, everything seems to go well again. And then back-to-dhampir-Dimitri doesn’t want to see Rose, and she’s arrested for a crime she didn’t even know was possible… The murder on queen Tatiana.

Just when I thought things were going alright THE ENDING AGAIN. I didn’t even think it was possible to cure Dimitri, and then it happened and I didn’t know how to feel because I RELLY wanted Rose to be with him but also Adrian has become so amazing, and I couldn’t make a choice. And then it was made for me by having Dimitri say those things and my heart got broken. This book was a wild ride, I must say and left me once again both wanting and not wanting to read the last book!

Book 6: Last Sacrifice

6527740

With Dimitri cured and Rose in prison, everything is happening at once. When Rose escapes prison with the help of Dimitri and Eddie (and Christian and Lissa, who invented the escape plan) during the funeral of Queen Tatiana, they drive up to meet Sydney, who will help her and her friends to get far, far away from the palace. While Rose is away, Lissa is determinded to prove Rose hasn’t murdered the queen, but is also nominated to become the new queen. Except, to become queen, one must have family to vote on her. And that´s one thing Lissa doesn’t have… Or does she? As it turns out, Lissa has a long-lost secret sister, and Rose, Dimitri, Sydney get on searching for her while still hiding from everyone who’s searching for Rose. Dimitri is back to being the tutor she remembers, and it brings all her feelings (that were never really gone anyways) back. However, she still is in a relationship with Adrian, and she doesn’t want to hurt him either. .

Just when you thought you had read everything…. This book came out. So many new plot twists and evrything I had never thought of. While Rose and Lissa were apart in this book too, it’s a lot better than Blood Promise. The storylines go around each other perfectly well and so much is happening al of the time. I’m sort of sad the series has ended with this book, but on the other hand, it’s a pretty perfect ending too. However, I’d love to read more about Lissa and Jill.

Overall: I simply cannot put this simpler: I LOVE this series. The writing is really well, and even with the love triangles (yes, multiple), it’s still full of action and everything you could expect. This is one of the series I wish I could forget and just read for the first time again. The characterization is done really well, and you can really notice Rose become more and more adult-y throughout the books. I love her character, and her relationship (even in the non-love form) with Dimitri.

As for the covers, they could’ve done better but they also cou;d’ve done a lot worse.. The new covers don’t have any images on it and are pretty simple, but I don’t really like those either to be honest. However, they are slightly better than the old covers, because the cover images aren’t how I imagined Rose at all.

vampire_academy-richelle-mead-ya-young-adult-teen-book-movie-film-new-book-set-covers-dark-mzdarkstar-star-the-alter-ego-writer

On one hand, I’m kinda sad there aren’t made any more movies, but now that I have read the entire series, I don’t think the movies would do the books anything good. The first was pretty okay, but I just have really high standards now haha.

There is an unofficial Vampire Academy series ongoing, the Facebook page is here!

Beyond the Books – November

Hello! It’s December already, is it just me or does this year seem to fly by?

This wonderful idea is brought to you by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much. Go give her a follow!

TV

  • As for TV I continued watching Breaking Bad but there’s so much dialogue, I can’t concentrate on it anymore! We usually watch it at late evenings or night and at that point I’m already tired from the day so yeah we kind of paused that
  • We did start Mr. Robot, which is a really nice series but it is starting to get weirder and weirder. Unlike Breaking Bad, this series doesn’t have a lot of dialogue. What it does have a lot is monologue haha.
  • I’m still watching Once Upon A Time, and oh my god all the plot twists! I’ll try to avoid giving any spoilers but if you watch it, please tell me!

Movies

This month I actually didn’t watch any movies, shocking, I know 😛 I was busier with sleeping and actually reading books again, so maybe next month!

Nails

Even my nails didn’t get a lot of attention! I did do some art, and even though it was only November, I was already in the Christmas spirit haha

snapchat-915807857

Music

I recently got obsessed with Hammerfall again (mainly because it’s the first upcoming concert YAY) and I reviewed the new Green Day album, Revolution Radio, which you can view here.

And that’s already it! To be honest, December can go by fast af for me, I don’t really celebrate Christmas (got invited at my boyfriend’s parents though so that’s nice), and I just really want to be done with 2016 already.

How was this month for you?

Beyond the Books – October

Because I do a lot of other thinbgs besides reading 🙂

Links open in a new tab

This is an idea by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much, go give her a follow!

I didn’t really blog this month because I went on a vacation and got sick so I didn’t really feel like doing anything. But, I have some post ideas ready and I’m all back again!

TV

  • I started Breaking Bad with my boyfriend, and I must say: 2 episodes in, and I am very confused haha. I do like it though, so I hope we can watch all of it soon!
  • I am still not watching anything else besides Once Upon A Time, but honestly, that show, oh man. Every episode is just one big mess of happiness, sadness, and “oh-my-god-you-did-not-just-do-that”-moments. Y’all should watch it though, it’s amazing
  • I’m also considering watching Doctor Who again, I stopped watching somwehere halfway through because I didn’t have time any more but I’m working a little less now so I should be able to watch something again

Movies

  • I watched Groundhog Day, about a TV weatherman who relives the same day (which is Groundhog Day) over and over and over and over again. I got the idea to watch it from an episode of Supernatural (3.11 Mystery Spot), and it was a really funny movie
  • Other than that, I only rewatched Life As We Know It, where a man and a woman gotta take care of a baby when the baby’s parents died in a car crash. It’s a typical chick flick and I loved it as much as the first time I watched it haha

Nails

snapchat-5868922249398223574 snapchat-7338183295031997941img_20161020_212125

I did do some nail art this month, and as you can see, I’m very fond of dots (mostly because they’re easy to do and don’t take up a lot of time).

Music

img_20161021_180108

I bought another CD (because why wouldn’t I.. It’s not like I have any place left on my shelves oops), and I went to a concert, Lacuna Coil. They’re a really awesome band, check them out!

Also, Green Day’s Revolution Radio came out, and I love it! I’m really excited for the concert in January (did I tell you I got concert tickets for Green Day?? Because I did 😀 )

another release was Avenged Sevenfold’s The Stage, which is also really awesome. They’re coming to the Netherlands too, but I’m not sure if I’m going because it’s really expensive.. 😦

Other stuff

  • My sister’s birthday was friday the 28th, and so was my boyfriend’s graduation (for a bachelor at the uni), so I baked one carrot cake and one apple pie and they were delicious! I hadn’t baked in a while and it was really nice to do it again. Maybe I’ll share a receipe someday in the near future 🙂

img_20161027_235802 img_20161028_205817

  • For those who wonder, I don’t celebrate Halloween. I spent the night working and then straight up going to bed because I was so tired. I do hope y’all had a nice Halloween though!

What did you do the last month? Anything we have in common? Tell me in the comments!

Beyond the Books – September

Because I do a lot of other things than Reading 🙂

This is a monthly thing created by this lovely blog, to show what else happens besides the reading and book blogging. I am actually a whole week too late with this, but still going for it 🙂

Movies

I didn’t watch that much movies, but I did watch some and they were awesome!

  • First of all, one of the new chick flicks I found, Crazy, Stupid, Love. It was really amazing and damn, there is this one plottwist I actually didn’t see coming, and that doesn’t happen a lot with chick flicks 😛
  • Drinking Buddies, a 2013 movie. It seemed like a huge chick flick at first, but didn’t end like one. The ending really surprised me, but I liked the movie nonetheless
  • It’s Kind Of A Funny Story, which I reviewed here.
  • No Strings Attached, another really funny movie, which I really enjoyed
  • And last but not least, The Italian Job, a movie about a group of thieves who are planning revenge on an ex-friend. I can’t way too much because spoilers, but if you like classic action, you should watch this one!

Nails

This month I did more nail art than less month, even though it doesn’t even last a week.

It isn’t by far as professional as some other nail art I’ve seen on Instagram, but I don’t have all those fancy brushes because they are way too expensive haha

Music

I’ve found out that I didn’t have Nightwish’s album Angels Fall First already, so I had it in my downloads immediately. I recommend you all to listen to Nightwish by the way, even if you don’t like metal, you should just her the voice of the lead singers ❤

Also, the webshop I usually buy my stuff from had a nice sale in CD’s so I kind of spent 60 euros on Cd’s.. oops 😉 It was all worth it though!

Other stuff

  • Well, not something to be proud of, but I made the 200 hours of working in September. Which is kind of 50 hours a week, and that may be a regular full-time job for some, but for me, as an 18 years-old who works at Subway, it’s quite much. Luckily, I am planning to go on a holiday halfway though October so yay! 🙂
  • Other than that, I haven’t done that much (which is understandable since I worked that much haha) but I made some really cute pics of kitties I saw!

First two are my friend’s cat, he’s a real cutie (and he used to be so small you could hold him in one hand! I’ll try to find the pics I took then because damn, cuteness), the 3rd is my boyriends cat (so cute but not that pettable haha) and the last one is my own smol baby, trying to have me pet her through the window

What did you do the last month? Anything we have in common? Tell me in the comments!
