Book Traveling Thursday: a summer read

Hey there! I’m back with another Book Traveling Thursday this week! Sorry I missed last week, I was crazy busy with packing my bag for the festival I had last weekend, and I worked till 9pm so I didn’t have a lot of time left 😦

Book Traveling Thursdays is created by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.

June 22nd – Summer is here! Choose a book you want to read this Summer.

I chose the Summoner book 2: The Inquisition. I finished the Novice last night, and this book was so good. I’ll be writing a review soon! I really want to read the Inquisition and the Battlemage soon, but I’ll have to buy them haha.

Original (and favorite) cover:

25689056

Cover from my country (the Netherlands):

(This book isn’t translated into Dutch yet??? Man shame on my country)

Least favorite cover:

3313017830754937

I chose these two because they look like the 1st and 3rd covers from the original editions and it confuses the hell out of me. Not that these aren’t pretty though!

Buy this book here on Book Depository!

Have you read this book? What did you think? I personally love all three of the book’s covers, I’ll include them all here because they’re simply beautiful!

Hello there! Since I’ve planned on staying up to date with tags and memes, here’s my BTT for this week!

To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.

June 8th – Choose a book you want to read repeatedly.

I’m going with…. Percy Jackson! I’ve read this series for the first time when I was 13 years old, and I immediately loved it. It’s also the first book/series I’ve ever read in English haha 🙂

Original cover:

7581796

Cover from my country (The Netherlands):

6935607

Unlike most Dutch covers, I actually like this one, it displays very well what’s going on inside the book!

Favorite cover:

516tbavfpvl-_sx324_bo1204203200_

I have this cover myself and in real life, it’s so sparkly and beautiful!

Least favorite cover:

6861455

It just simply doesn’t speak to me, sadly

And that’s all for today! Have you read this series? If English isn’t your native language, what was the first book you’ve read in English and when?

Until next time!

– Because in Spring time we tend to read more contemporary… Choose your favorite contemporary read

I’m going with The Perks Of Being A Wallflower! I haven’t read a lot of contemporary books yet, but I’m getting there 🙂

Original (and least favorite) cover:

22628

I’ve got to admit, I really don’t like this cover. The yellow/green is kinda ugly and it’s just too much of one color on the entire cover 😦

Cover from my country (The Netherlands):

11249236

I actually really like this cover, surprisingly enough.

Favorite cover:

432706619188829

The first one is a lot like the Dutch cover, and the blue one is the one I bought. I really like it 🙂

Do you agree with my choices? Have you read this book?

Book Traveling Thursdays: blue covers

– Choose a book that has originally a blue cover.

The book I’m going with today is A Court Of Mist And Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I have yet to read this seris, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it!

Original cover:

17927395

I already do really like this cover to be honest. It makes me want to have it on my shelf ❤

Cover from my country (The Netherlands):

29623181

Basically the same but translated to Dutch!

Favorite cover:

3174231134514110

Look at those! I either am into a lot of colors, or the soft cover of the German version. They’re both so pretty!

Least favorite cover:

SURPRISE I don’t have one for once! Isn’t that great? 🙂

Have you read this book? What did you think of my choices?

Book Traveling Thursdays: Spring is here!

Hello! Today I’m here again with the Book Traveling Thursdays 🙂

April 6th – Spring is here! Choose a book you want to read this Spring.

I’m going with The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. I’ve been wanting to read it for a long time, and I’ll admit it, once it came in the mail I kind of already started, but I have already too many books that I’m currently reading so I stopped myself. The other reason I chose this book is because it just has a gorgeous cover!

Original (and favorite) cover:

28763485

Just look at it! The colors flowing and prettiness, it’s an amazing book to photograph in just any picture to be honest. It’s also one of the few original covers that is just so pretty, I almost don’t want to search up any other covers to ruin my mood haha

Cover from my country (The Netherlands):

schermafbeelding-2017-01-10-om-20-35-56

IT”S THE SAME OH MY GOD it makes me so happy! I don’t really read any Dutch books these days, but for my fellow Dutchies, I’m just happy the cover is as pretty as the original one 😀

Least favorite cover:

32811620

Honestly, this is just plain bad. Not even more than one color on the cover and so much white space too 😦

Honorable mentions:

3469699834385866

Not as pretty as the original one, but I do love the first one too. The second one kind of looks like the one time I tried a nail art look that went a little wrong haha. Still, they have the flowing colors and they’re pretty nice to have on your bookshelves!

Tell me I’m not the only one obsessing over this cover? I’m so excited to read it!

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was a couple of days ago… Choose a book with a POC as a main character .

I could’ve gone with The Hate U Give, a book I desperately want to read, but instead, I’m going with You’re Welcome, Universe. And yes, I know it only has one cover yet, but it’s just so pretty that I have to share it with you!

Original (and only) cover:

25701463

I just love colorful covers, they always make me want to buy it and put it on my shelf, even if I won’t read it. This one, I’ll probably want to read though! The story seems interesting, and one review on Goodreads even said that Julia is deaf, which makes it even more awesome somehow 🙂

Have you read this book, or want to read it? And do you love pretty covers so much too?

Book Traveling Thursdays: International Woman’s Day

March 9th – Yesterday was International Women’s Da.y. Choose a book with a strong female MC.

I’m going with the Millennium series, because I love it and if there’s one strong female in a book series, it’s Lisbeth Salander.

Original cover:

1512195

This book is originally Swedish, the title translates to “Men Who Hate Women”, and I honestly think that’s the best title for this book. You’ll understand why if you’ve read it 🙂

Cover from my country (the Netherlands):

6063235

Also the literal translation from the original title.

Favorite cover:

13379874

The reason this is my favorite is because they’ve used a frame from the original movie and I loved it so much, I can’t not like this cover to be honest. Besides, this was one of the few movies where the actors really looked like what I imagined them when I read the books!

Least favorite cover:

28949772

The reason why this is my least favorite cover is not because there’s real life people on it (not this time, haha). The point is, that these are the actors from the American movie, and I honestly don’t even want to see it. Maybe if one day, I’m really bored I’ll watch it, but my experience with non-America movies and series so far is that when they make an American remake, it almost always worse than the original. And because I loved the original movies so much, I’m afraid to watch the America remakes haha

If you are interested, you can read my review of the books here 🙂

Buy this series here!

Did you read these books? Or watch the movies? Please tell me you loved them as much as me!

– With the Oscars coming up soon choose a book that you would like to see as a movie.

I’m going for Shiver (and, naturally, the other books in the Mercy Falls series!). This book is amazing and I loved it so much, I’d love to see it as a movie!

Original cover:

6068551

Cover from my country (the Netherlands):

7062755

It’s basically the same 🙂

Favorite cover:

205133336528333

I don’t know why, but black covers always seem to do things for me.. However, the original cover is super pretty too!

Least favorite cover:

15058654

Ah, the faces…. again 😛

Did you read this book? What did you think of the covers I chose? Pretty beautiful, aren’t they?

I’m going with The Knife Of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking 1) by Patrick Ness because this book is actually great. Before I read it, I have had it in my hands for about 5 times, and 5 times, I put it away again. The summary on the back just didn’t attract me enough to pick it up, and then, the the 6th time, I decided I would just start it. And I’m glad I did because this series is really fun to read.

Original cover:

2118745

a pretty okay cover, if you ask me

Cover from my country (the Netherlands):

17195151

Also pretty okay, not too bad, also not the best though

Favorite cover:

I don’t exactly have a favorite cover, because all of them are either not too bad but not the best, or just plain awful.. I guess it’s also hard to find a good cover with a title like that.

Least favorite cover:

14744036

You can already guess my trouble with this cover I guess 😛

Buy The Knife Of Never Letting Go here!

Do you have a favorite cover of this book? What do you think?

– Valentine’s Day is just around the corner… Choose a book that deals with first love.

I’m going with the Ruby Red series here, simply because I absolutely adore the covers!

Original (and favorite) cover:

63252851

It’s originally a German book, so that explains it 🙂

Cover from my country (the Netherlands):

11306615

As you can see, it’s the same, except that the title is in Dutch :p

Least favorite cover:

10723532

I know, again the one with the real life girl on the cover, but as I mentioned in my T5W from yesterday, I just can’t stand it!

A while ago, I thought to myself I’d buy the books in Dutch, just because the cover is so much prettier, and I actually bought them a few weeks later! Sadly, I didn’t have money for the hardcover versions becasue those are even better! The cover is as soft as it looks and I think I might buy them once I have money

51xnn4kgcal-_sx258_bo1204203200_

Tell me those covers are as pretty as I think they are, because I’m completely in love with them!
